Napadi na Gazo trajajo že tri tedne. Žrtev je preko tisoč. Izrael bombardira ne le gosto naseljeno civilno območje, pri tem uporablja tudi beli fosfor in DIME (dense inert metal explosive) bombe. Beli fosfor uradno uporabljajo za ustvarjanje dimnih zaves, saj je njegova uporaba v boju prepovedana. Razlike v namenu uporabe sicer ni, saj je ogrožen vsakdo, ki se znajde v radiu 150 do 250 metrov od eksplozije.
Ameriška mornarica je pred dvema letoma začela z eksperimentalno uporabo bomb DIME. Njihova glavna značilnost je udarni val, ki se zadrži na zelo majhnem območju. Razvita je bila za bombandiranje ciljev v naseljih, da bi zmanjšali število kolateralnih žrtev. Ljudem, ki so žrtve te bombe, od kosti potrga mišice in notranje organe. Namesto šrapnelov letijo okoli majhni kovinski delčki. Prav te so našli v žrtvah v Gazi. Izrael uporabo DIME bomb in belega fosforja zanika.
KAJ JE HAMAS
Če je uradni cilj Izraela prenehanje raketiranja in uničenje Hamasa, potem mu ob vsem razdejanju to ne uspeva, Hamas ima podporo večjo kot pred napadom, torej povsem enako, kot se je z napadom na Libanon okrepila priljubljenost Hesbolaha.
Hamas je nastal na osnovi ideologije egiptovske muslimanske bratovščine, torej islama kot politične doktrine. Temelji te so boj za islamske vrednote v javnem življenju, manjši vplih zahodne kulture, za islamsko bančništvo, ki prepoveduje obrasti, proti korumpiranim političnim veljakom. Hamas ni le terorizem oziroma boj za svobodo. Je gibanje, ki pokriva širok spekter družbenih dejavnosti, od političnega udejstvovanja, paravojaških enot, do zdravstvene oskrbe, socialnega skrbstva in šolstva. Pri vzponu Hamasa in drugih islamističnih gibanj ne gre prezreti vloge Mosada, ki je udejanjal taktiko »deli in vladaj« s tem, da je spodbujal islamizem kot protiutež močnemu sekularnemu in nacionalističnemu gibanju Palestinske osvobodilne organizacije. Organizaciji PLO in Fatah sta se izkazali za neučinkoviti in skorumpirani gibanji, ki sta tudi v pogajanjih znova in znova popuščali izraelskim ekspanzionističnim zahtevam, za lastno prebivalstvo pa nista znala poskrbeti.
GLOBALNI ODZIVI
Mednarodna skupnost zaradi interesov ZDA ni zmožna sprejeti nobenega vsebinskega ukrepa. Ameriški senat in kongres sta podprla napad na Gazo, ker se s tem Izrael brani, ZDA mu bodo v tem stale ob strani. Podobno stališče ima prihajajoča administracija, ki bo tako ostala ena redkih preostalih zaveznic agresivnega cionizma.
Bolivija se je pridružila Mavretaniji in Venezueli ter protestno prekinila diplomatske stike z Izraelom. Predsednik Evo Morales bo naredil vse, da bo izraelsko vodstvo vključno s premierom Olmertom obtoženo genocida pred Mednarodnim kazenskim sodiščem. Predsednik Shimon Peres si Nobelove nagrada za mir ne zasluži, morali bi mu jo odvzeti.
Po celem svetu potekajo demonstracije v podporo prebivalstvu Gaze in prekinitvi izraelskega napada, saj politična vodstva niso zmožna vplivati na ustavitev napadov. Hkrati čedalje več ljudi in civilnodružbenih organizacij poziva k individualnemu bojkotu izraelskih in ameriških podjetij. V soboto bodo demonstracije tudi na Kongresnem trgu v Ljubljani.
IZRAELSKI APARTHEID
Volilna komisija Kneseta je sprejel novo uredbo, ki arabskim političnim strankam prepoveduje udeležbo na prihajajočih volitvah. Predlog prepovedi sta vložili dve ultranacionalistični stranki, podprle so ga vse ostale. Arabske stranke obtožujejo podpihovanja upora, podpore teroristom, zanikanje pravice do obstoja Izraela in potovanja v sovražni Sirijo in Libanon. Na arabske poslance v dominantno židovskih strankah odločitev ne bo vlivala.
VEDEŽEVALCI O MEHIŠKI DRŽAVI
Poročilo ameriškega generalštaba, ki analizira grožnje globalni varnosti, je med dve državi, za kateri obstaja možnost kolapsa večine funkcij države, uvrstil Pakistan in Mehiko.
Mehiški pravosodni sistem, politiki in policija so pod hudim pritiskom kriminalnih tolp in mamilarskih kartelov. V nekaterih predelih je uvedeno izredno stanje, na ulicah patruljira vojska. Država se s temi težavami ne zna boriti. Predsednik Felipe Calderon je vsem diplomatskim predstavništvom v tujini ukazal, naj Mehiko predstavljajo le v pozitivni luči.
ŠPANSKA PRAVICA ZA SALVADOR
Španski sodnik je sprejel odločitev o začetku preiskave 14 salvadorskih oficirjev, ki so obtoženi poboja 6 jezuitskih duhovnikov leta 1989, njihove gospodinje in njene hčerke. V imenu žrtev sta ovadbo vložili dve organizaciji za človekove pravice. V času državljanske vojne, ki je trajala od leta 1980 do 1992, je bilo v Salvadorju ubitih okoli 70.000 ljudi, 7000 jih je izginilo. Večino ubojev so zagrešili pripadniki vojske in desničarskih paravojaških skupin. Država je po koncu vojne sprejela zakon o popolni amnestiji tudi za ljudi, osumljene zločinov proti človeštvu. Žrtvam tako domača sodišča niso dosegljiva.
Španija je ena izmed redkih držav, ki ne le priznava, temveč tudi udejanja univerzalno jurisdikcijo v primerih zločinov proti človeštvu. Hkrati pa imata Španija in Salvador sporazum o izročitvi osumljencev. Najbolj znan primer uporabe univerzalne jurisdikcije je bila obsodba generala Pinocheta.
BRITANCI POD OKUPACIJO
Britanski politiki kar ne morejo ustaviti plazu protiteroristične zakonodaje. Sedaj so predložil osnutek zakona o varnosti v potniškem prometu na nadzemni in podzemni železnici.
Če bo predlog zakona sprejet, bodo morali biti vsak potnik na vlakih in podzemni železnicic pred nakupom karte pregledani, da slučajno ne bi skrival orožja. Ker policija nima pooblastil za takšne preglede, bodo morali potniki dovoliti pregled. Brez pregleda pa nakup karte in vožnja ne bo mogoča.

Od Španije, nekoč “najbolj katoliške države”, se lahko marsikaj učimo. (Seveda je univerzalno jurisdikcijo lažje “prodati” v bivši kolonijalni velesili kot v vase zaprti državici, a nikoli ne veš, kateri zgled bo zalegel.)
