Omenjene filme — Padale bodo buške (There Will Be Blood, 2007), Zlato Sierra Madre (Treasure of Sierra Madre, 1948) in Državljana Ceneta (Citizen Kane, 1941) — je Akademija nominirala za kopico oskarjev, tudi izplen pa je bil velik le pri Zlatu Sierra Madre, kjer se je zgodilo edinstveno slavje: John Huston je dobil oskarja za režijo in scenarij, njegov oče Walter Huston pa za stransko igro. Cene je dobil nagrado za scenarij, ki je (poleg častnega leta 1971) edini oskar Orsona Wellesa, sicer koscenarista. Kdo je bil Cenetov glavni scenarist, Welles ali Herman J. Mankiewicz? Se ne ve, ljudje imajo različna mnenja, marsikdo pa meni, da ni bil Welles. Padale bodo buške: 8 nominacij, 2 oskarja. Seveda ne najboljši film, za to je preveč netipičen, eksperimentalen. Odisejo v vesolju so leta 1969 odpravili na podoben način.

Izbira med Starci in Krvjo/Buškami je…nekako sladka.
Kane & Odiseja sta bila brez dvoma ahead of time. Akademija je zadnja organizacija, od katere bi bilo pričakovati pretirano razdajanje v smeri inovativnosti*. Na nek način bi lahko oba označil za ZF/futuristična; v tem smislu Blood (logično) zaostaja, ima luksuz možnosti zgledovanja po klasikah, o katerih je govora v Kinotožju. Kar pa mu ne preprečuje visoke uvrstitve na lestvicah najboljših (čez npr. 50 let). Ustvariti velik Film je morda dandanes celo težje, so pa vsaj kritiki manj zmedeni..
Je pa res da ‘Kako zelena je bila moja dolina’ nima v primerjavi s Kaneom za burek. Me pa bega, da ga še nisem zasledil na naših dvd-policah (po možnosti s komentarjem od R. Eberta)?!
* Vprašanje za No Country…, če ne bi Fargo pred 10 leti zoral ledine, v primerjavi s katerim Angleški pacient (vsen kul muvi, r.i.p. Minghella) deluje kot Pokora.

@/\ \/, to je pristni soundtrack tistega klipa, torej glasba iz TWBB. Meni je delovala kar močno in izvirno. In spomnila me je na Kubrickovo Odisejo, v kateri je kje podložen Gyoergy Ligeti.

Ima Zaklad Sierra Madre, dobi seveda There Will Be Blood, filma Citizen Kane nima. Kaj skratka ima, mnogo nima, dosti bo še dobil. ;) Poglej, saj lahko iščeš po njihovi bazi.
