Oskarjevih 8 nominacij za film Ni prostora za starce (No Country for Old Men, 2007) je zasluženih. Ob Fargu (1996) očitno najboljši izdelek bratov Coen. Le kaj bi bilo lahko letos boljšega? Teklo bo iz nosu (There Will Be Blood, 2007)? Pa, Daniel Day-Lewis ob stran, baje je v filmu malo pravega testa, s katerim so nagneteni Starci, v katerih je posebna zver Javier Bardem, ki bo čez nekaj dni prvi španski igralec, nagrajen z oskarjem.
Nagrajenec je tudi Fellinijev Amarcord (1973) kot tujejezični oskar 1975. Bolj seksi remake je Tornatorjeva Malena (2000) z Moniko Beluči.

Označit No Country za muvi leta je podcenjujoče, sam bi ga postavil ob bok Taksistu in podobnim. S časom si bo status samo še urdil. Zabavna reč? There Will Be Blood sodi v isti rang! Morda ne za vsak okus in družinski ogled.. Razveseljivo, da sta oba filma U.S. produkciji in tudi drugače značilno ameriška (western pridih, Blood = C. Kane). Z močnim režiserjevim pečatom, kakršnih je vsako leto več. Kakorkoli, Akademija ima letos (statistično gledano) že male šanse, da zgreši. Dasiravno je to v preteklosti ni vedno oviralo.
Samo še glede Coenov. Stvar pogleda, lahko bi tudi rekli, da že 10 let nista z ničemer navdušila. The man who wasn’t there še OK, nazadnje Lebowski. Zaradi česar smo lahko še bolj veseli. Če ne uporabim lastnih besed, “z avtorjem knjižne predloge sta brata našla svoj ‘mojo’.” In posledično tudi vsi ljubitelji filma..

Knjižna predloga se mi zdi zanimiva. Nisem je bral, ampak kot razumem, je verodostojno prenesena in spremenjena res čisto malo. Gleda pa se jo kot značilen Coenovski film z vsemi elementi iz, recimo, Farga (ki ima, mimogrede, zanimivo diametralno klimo: “arktika” - “puščava”) … Kot da bi imel pisatelj v mislih brata Coen za predelovalca. ;)
There Will Be Blood sodi v isti rang! Morda ne za vsak okus in družinski ogled … - Ne za družinski ogled — ali ja za družinski ogled? Slovnično je napisano kot prvo, drugače te iz konteksta razumem kot drugo … No, seveda počakajmo na oskarje pa na kinoprikazovanje Krvi. Baje ima tudi zanimivo glasbo.

Javier Bardem res prikaže eno boljših iger v zadnjem času…. in končno en novi film, ki ni zanič….

Pozdrav!
Kar nisem mogel verjeti ,da lahko brezidejni film ,kot je * Ni prostora za starce*osvoji nagrado Oskar.V njem spet 1009-tič lahko gledamo ,kako bo nek kriminalec ubil nekaj nedolžnih ljudi in
odkorakal z denarjem nekih bebcev…….. Morda pa bomo v naslednjem filmu gledali ,kako v živo nekaj režejo …žgejo .. in sploh spet kake neumnosti.To kar Jonas predstavlja z vesterni je pa druga zgodba.Tisti ,ki jim westerni nekaj pomenijo vedo ,da jih je bilo posnetih nekaj več ,kot 4000 in da je veliko westernov ,ki so zelo kvalitetni zamolčani -oziroma niso bili reklamirani dovolj.
O kakšnem izzivu pa kaj več !!!!!

A ni to že konkretna ideja? (Izvedba je pa super, moraš priznati.) Morebitni film, o katerem govoriš, pa bosta čez čas prav morda posnela brata Coen, to sta taista avtorja ko za filmom Ni prostora za starce. Napovedujeta namreč nek vestern, poln hudega nasilja, žganja, skalpiranja. In onadva rada pobirata oskarje …
O vesternih seveda vse dobro. Imaš prav, dosti kvalitetnih je zamolčanih. Ampak jih bomo odmolčali, evo da jih bomo; en takšnih je, recimo, že Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid (1973) Sama Peckinpaha. Pa še ti predlagaj enega.
